Gaia's Healing Touch
Hello, my name is Berenis Melania Leonard, I am the founder of Gaia's Healing Touch. My purpose in creating this company is to share my passion in living holistically for the sake of one's self. I want to share the love that lies inside my soul to help teach practices of healing. Currently, I am doing this through my gift of Healing Touch Massage Therapy. It is a blend of deep tissue, shiatsu, trigger points, Swedish, gua sha, myofascial release, Thai Massage and aroma therapy. My goal is to create the best fit of massage for you and your needs. We will create the journey to self healing together and it will be my absolute honor to help cultivate a lifestyle of health, happiness, and love.
I began my path to healing long before I even knew about it. As a child, massage was a big part of my family's culture. Anytime something hurt, I remember going to my mom asking her for help. Eventually as a young teen my mom went to school and became certified. That is when I became more involved as she practiced on my brother and I a lot. Unfortunately, I still did not know the benefits and once I graduated High School I went straight to college for Biological Engineering. It ended up not being the best fit at the time and decided to instead work. My loving mother, who seems to always know what is best, urged me to go to massage school. I do not know what told me to agree but am I grateful I did. Reconnecting to myself by understanding the way the body works helped me get through my own struggles in life. I became more aware and began valuing myself so much more. I adopted a lifestyle I never even knew existed.
I got certified at Ahern's Massage Therapy School in Mariposa, CA. Soon after became Licensed by the State of California. I first began working at the Ahwahnee Hotel, in Yosemite National Park. About 3 years later moved to Sacramento to further my education and experience. I went to school at Sacramento City College for Therapeutic Kinesiology and now currently graduated from California State University, Sacramento with two degrees: B.S. Kinesiology and B.A. Dance. My plan is to eventually become a Physical Therapist and then open my own Nonprofit Wellness Center. I worked as a part of Spa LaLe's Team, as the Lead Massage Therapist, but am now running my own business.
I hope you are ready to embark on this journey.
I am just profoundly excited to meet you and work with you. I appreciate you and all that you are. Namaste.
